LUMIFLON® resins were developed by Asahi Glass in 1982 as the world’s first solvent-soluble fluoropolymers. In the past 25 years, fluoropolymer coatings based on LUMIFLON® resins have been produced by paint manufacturers around the world, and applied to over 150,000 structures. The use of LUMIFLON® resins offers substantial life cycle cost savings compared to conventional coating technologies.
LUMIFLON® based coatings are ultra-weatherable, retaining color and gloss for up to 50 years in some cases. They also prevent corrosion caused by water, oxygen, and chloride. LUMIFLON® resins are used to coat bridges, water towers, monumental buildings, aircraft, and automobiles.
